    Happy birthday Mr.Dependable of cricket

Mr.Dependable may have invoked many questions in one's mind regarding the identity of this guy. Though he has not played much one day international, he is still termed as Mr.Dependable of India. He got this name by his superb performance in sustaining the batting attack of Chennai Super Kings in IPL.

Yes, he is Subramaniam Badrinath of India who is going to celebrate his 31st birthday on 30th August. He is one of the talents of Indian cricket who hasnt cracked much of fame in international career but still commands vast respect in domestic and first class cricket.

His average of 56.57 in 15 matches of this year's IPL was widely appreciated which gave him a place in the tour against West Indies this year. He made his international T20 debut in style, earning Man of the Match. He made modest runs in the 3 ODI against Sri lanka in 2008 but its too early to judge the man of his reputation on his future. Having a batting average of 62.31 in First Class and 40.65 in List A cricket, he is a run-machine who once gets initiated is hard to control.

He is commanding respect in Ranji trophy, captaining Tamilnadu this year. But as long as his international stint goes, its time to give the man of his caliber another shot to international game, as he holds the key for India's future particularly in test, after disappointing stuff posted by the visitors in England this month. Having a good strike rate and being on excellent touch of ball, its time India shows some appreciation to him and securing a place in the team in future.

At the end, Indian fans are really honored to have such player of class to be part of cricket of the past, present and future, may this year be a prosperous one to you Mr.Dependable. I wish you a very happy birthday.
