The 2011 Little League World Series, like every other years, is going to be organized this year as well for children aged between 11 and 13 years. The original name for the Little League World Series tournament was National Little League Tournament, however it was renamed later in order to match the World Series in Major League Baseball (MLB). First held in 1947, Little League World Series baseball tournament is every year in the month of August in South Williamsport of Pennsylvania in the United States. This year also the Little League World Series 2011 venue is South Williamsport and as usual 16 teams will compete in this children's baseball tournament, with eight teams from the United States of America and eight other teams from the rest of the world. The Little League World Series 2011 will begin on August 18, 2011 and will end on August 28, 2011. The 2011 Little League World Series rules will be a little different from the previous years' version of the tournament. On June 16, 2011, in an official announcement by the Little League, it was said that the double-elimination format was being modified which was introduced in the 2010 Little League World Series. Also, the format of four pools with four teams in each, which has been so far used since the introduction of 16 teams instead of 8 in the year 2001, has also been eliminated. This time there will be two 2011 Little League World Series brackets. The eight teams from the United States will be in one bracket while the other bracket will be shared by the remaining eight teams from the rest of the world. The new uniforms of the 2011 Little League World Series baseball tournament are hopefully going to be an object of attraction and interest. Due to the renewal of the deals of the Little League International with Russell Athletic and New Era Caps, the uniform supplies, there will be new uniforms, which was a part of the deal. The regional teams of US will now have new colour schemes. The Little Leagues International had signed an eight year television contract with ESPN / ABC in 2007. Accordingly, the 2011 Little League World Series will be the fifth year under that eight year contract. Therefore, all of the 2011 Little League World Series baseball tournament games or matches will be live telecast on ABC or ESPN network family. The 2011 Little League World Series matches live telecast will be in high definition from 3 pm on the respective match days. For the first time ever, this year in 2011, 17 World Series baseball games will be live telecast on ESPN 3D.
