Joel Garner is a former West Indian Cricketer and one of the most tallest fast bowler. Member of the famous West Indies bowling line-up in 70's and 80's, Garner have one of the best bowling statistics in International Cricket.
Joel Garner started his cricket career in 1975. His international debut came against Pakistan in a Test Match in 1977. He took 6 wickets in the match and total of 10 wickets in two tests. His ODI debut also came against Pakistan and picked 3 wickets by gaving away just 27 runs.
Very soon Garner established himself as an important part of the West Indies bowling alongwith Andy Roberts, Colin Croft and Holding. In 1979 Cricket World Cup, he became a hero when in the final he grabbed five English wickets in the victory. Due to his excellent performance in International cricket and County cricket, Joel become the Wisden Cricketer of the Year 1980.
