Ghulam Ahmed was a former Indian cricketer who is known for his Off-spin bowling. He was Born on 4 July, 1922 in Hyedrabad and died on 28th October, 1998.
Ahmed started playing first class cricket in 1939. His international career started in 1948 against West Indies in the third test of the series. He impressed with his performance by picking 4 wickets in West Indies first innings. In 1956, when Australia toured India the third test of the series was the proof of Ghulam Ahmed's excellent bowling. He took 10 wickets in the match, including figures of 7/49 in the Australian first innings. He also captained India in three test matches.

Ghulam Ahmed is also known for his useful batting at lower order. His partenership of 109 runs with Hemu Adhikari for tenth wicket is the second highest tenth wicket partenership for India in Test Cricket. He scored 50 runs in that inning.
