  • International Career


    Robin Jackmam played his first International match against India in 1974 in an ODI match of 1974 Prudential Trophy at Headingley, Leeds. He took 2 wickets in Indian innings. In second ODI, he improved his bowling figures, taking three wickets this time. His next match came against West Indies team in 1976 Prudential Trophy. He was very expensive in his bowling in that match in which Viv Richards made 97 off 96 balls. Jackman lost his place from England ODI side after this.

    In 1980 Prudential Trophy, Jackman returned to the England ODI team against Australia. He took one wicket in first match and went wicket-less in the second. He was again the part of England ODI team in 1981 Prudential Trophy. He took one wicket in each of the three matches he played.
    Test Debut
    Jackman also made his Test debut in 1981 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown againt West Indies on the country's tour. He played in third test of five test series. He took three wickets in West Indies first innings and two in the second innings. He also made 7 runs in each of the England innings. England lost that match by a big margin. Jackman got another chance in the fifth test of the series but only took one wicket in the match.

    Jackman played two more tests against Pakistan. He took eight wickets in these two matches including his best test bowling figure of 4/110. In Benson and Hedges World Series Cup 1982-83, Jackman took three wickets against Australia. He was declared Man of the Match awar for his bowling performance in that match. In the next match of the same tournament he took two wickets against New Zealand side. He took seven wickets in four matches in that series. Jackman played his last International match in 1983 against New Zealand in an ODI Match. He took two wickets and made 5 runs in that match.
