Bubba Watson is a professional golfer from America who plays in PGA Tour. He is known for his long drives in the sport of golf. A major championship winner he was born in Bagdad, Florida (United States) on 5 November, 1976. Golf Career
Watson started playing golf for University of Georgia. In 2000 he played for Bulldogs. In 2003, he played his first professional season at Nationwide Tour. After finishing 21st in the money list of Nationwide Tour in 2005, he qualified to play in the 2006 PGA Tour. In 2007 U.S. Open, Watson finished at tied fifth position.
2008 and 2009
His first professional win came at 2008 CVS Caremark Charity Classic, a two-man team event. His team-mate in this event was Colombian golfer Camilo Villegas. He finished on tied 20th position at The Masters and 70th position at PGA Championship in 2008. Year 2009 was not so great for Watson. His best performance in 2009 was tied 18th position finish at U.S. Open event.
2010 and 2011
In 2010, Watson started giving better results. He won his first PGA Tour title a Travelers Championship this year by defeating Corey Pavin and Scott Verplank in the playoff. But his highest achievement this year was runner-up finish at PGA Championship. He lost to Martin Kaymer in the playoff of this major championship.
Watson won his second PGA Tour title at the start of 2011 at Farmers Insurance Open. He won the title by 1 stroke with a four round score of (71-65-69-67=272). He then won his second title of the year at Zurich Classic of New Orleans, defeating Webb Simpson in the playoff. His best result in major championship this year was at PGA Championship where he finished at tied 26th position. Apart from this he finished fourth at Accenture Match Play Championship. He was also the part of US team in the Presidents Cup where his team become the winner.
2012: First Major Championship title
Year 2012 was best for Watson till date. He won his first major championship title at Masters Tournament where he defeated South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen in the playoff after leading four rounds with a score of (69-71-70-68=278). This win take him to the fourth rank in the Worlds Golf Ranking. He also finished tied 11th position in PGA Championship this year. He finished second in the Cadillac Championship which was won by English golfer Justin Rose.
